music
we are proud at TERROIR to play music exclusively from vinyl records, here’s a little selection of what we are listening to these days.
VAMPIRE WEEKEND st/2008
One of those trendy records that actually is good!somehow in between BEIRUT and the PIXIES….can’t really go wrong with those two; very well recorded indie pop rock, great, great drums, cool synthesizers, every song is pretty much as solid as the next one and i just can’t stop playing it every night!

GALT MACDERMOT “Shapes of rythm” 1966
I’m crazy about almost everything that has been previously sampled and MCDERMOT is one of those guy along the JB’s and KRAFTWERK that has been used, reused and totally abused!this recording has been reissued by egon from stone throw records(madlib, jay dee, lootpack…) who has a lot of other interesting titles on the now-again label. With Bernard PURDIE,Jimmy LEWIS and Napolean ALLEN backing him,Galt MCDERMOT delivers here a classic funky jazz record.

PYLON “gyrate” 1980
No wave music at it’s best!!Pure new york 1980 ,an undiscovered classic (actually,DFA just re-released the cd) just as good as the ESG’s,LIQUID LIQUID or early SONIC YOUTH.Drums banging hard, electric riffs and loud, well recorded bass,Makes me want to dance behind my bar(not gonna happen).
